"What do you think I would do? Did you think I would just let you walk back into my life after you picked her over me?" Alisha Martin just kept packing boxes. She was not going to let Jack Reed know what he was doing to her just being in the same room. She had to put this front up so maybe this move from him would hurt less, she hoped.
"No, I don't want you to take me back just like nothing happened. I just want our friendship back, or even some of it. I miss not coming over here or talking on the phone. Lisa took off with my ring and I cannot forgive her for that, but that has nothing to do with us. I want you to stay." Jack could not believe Alisha was using Lisa as the excuse to leave him. He was going to fight for her and make it really hard for her to leave him for any reason. He knew her mother had to leave, but she could stay with him and they could live happily ever after. Jack was not giving up and not try like hell to make her stay. "Why do you want our friendship, even if I am leaving and not coming back? I need you to take the trash out when you leave; it's by the back door. I know you both will get along." "Ouch! I guess I deserve that, but I will not give up so easily. I will be back to try again and I will make it hard for you to leave me." Jack walked out the door carrying the trash like the caring man that he is. Jack never argued about doing things for Alisha. She just wished he let her go without a fight. If she could stay, she would in a heartbeat. Alisha has to leave for her mother's sake. Alisha walks down the hall into a master bedroom that uses to hold all of her mother's things and now there is nothing, but boxes. Alisha finds her mother sitting on a big box crying in her hands and she goes next to her and puts her hands on her mother's back and rub lightly to smooth her. The next day they packed all boxes inside a rented truck and left without another word to anyone. Alisha had all of the address of her friends and even for Jack, but she did not think she would write to him. He would be mad not knowing they left so soon without him there.
