What defines a “redneck”?
Most people would say a redneck is a person with a southern accent, has a gun rack in the back of their car, has an enormous beer gut and has the I.Q. of a brick. What I define a redneck as is a person how is racially prejudiced and automatically stereotypes people by their race. Why do I say this defines a redneck? Well, a redneck by definition is a person with bigoted views. Racism is supposed to be long past, but the rednecks who still have racial prejudices are obviously stupid since they can’t grasp the simple concept that different race does not mean inferiority. If I were president, I would have every person with racial prejudices dragged off to jail or simply sent into exile.
Should the software industry be allowed to use Rights Management Software?
Short answer: No. Long answer: No. The software industry has no authority to use that kind of software for their own ends. It’s obvious that they shouldn’t be allowed to use Rights Management Software (RMS for short) since, translated into layman’s terms, means that by putting one of those programs on to their software, the can control your rights (as to what you can do with the software) as if they were given divine authority to do so. The software industry claims that they want to implement these programs into their software to reduce piracy, but in reality, all that they really want to do is boost their profits. The reason for saying this is because of the fact that it prevents you from being able to share the software you purchased with other people so that they will have to buy the software themselves, thus boosting the company’s profits. The companies that want to implement RMS into their software claim that purchasing software simply gives the owner a license to use the software, rather than them actually owning it. Unless the software you bought is stolen or pirated, you are entitled to do whatever you like with the software since you bought it with your own money. Not the company’s, not the county’s, but your money. When you perform the action of purchasing an item, the item becomes the private property of whoever bought it. This means that you should have the right to do anything you want with it and I mean anything. You could burn it (literally or digitally), destroy it, turn it into a statue or gasp! Share it with other people who have not purchased it. According to the people who made the software, sharing their software with other people who have not purchased it is piracy. Well, I think that most people (this does not include the big software makers since we all know what they would have to say about it) disagree with that. If a person decides that they want to share the software with other people so that they don’t have to pay for it, then it is the owner’s decision. RMS will never reduce piracy because the hackers (blackhats only) and the pirates are always one step ahead of the software industry and will always find ways around the roadblocks set up to stop them one way or another. What the software industry should do if they want to reduce piracy is push for tougher punishment for software pirates. If they only want to make more money through RMS, then they can take a hike. So what if they lose a few bucks to people sharing software with each other? If they can pour billions of dollars into advertising, then a couple thousand less per year should be a drop in the bucket for them.
I am especially sick of how the music industry is constantly trying to stop people from sharing music with each other. If I could have my way, Napster would be able to go back to its roots as a free music- sharing service. Why should I pay $15 a CD or $20 a month for a pay- per song music service if there is someone out there who is willing to share songs that I want for free? This is exactly the same as friends swapping CDs with each other, except that it involves a larger group of people. The only people who should be punished for this practice are the ones who want to make a dirty buck for themselves.
Is communism or socialism a good idea?
Short answer: No. Long answer: Yes, but only in theory. The ideas behind communism are that everything is done for the good of the people and that there are no rich people or poor people and no social classes. In reality, communism’s only aim is to make the person leading the communist movement more powerful and more in control of people’s lives. With communist countries, the government decides how much money you and everyone else receives, what religion you can follow (this is referring to the more “open” communist governments), how much food you can have, what job you can have, how much say you have in the government (which is absolutely NONE), et cetera, et cetera. The communists make me sick because they literally try to run everyone’s lives. For example, you cannot go to the mall to get some new clothes or anything like that because the law in communist countries is that everyone must buy everything from the state (this is why the black market has such a strong standing in Russia) and you will most likely be arrested if you were caught buying something from a non- government store. Also, it is illegal to speak your mind in a communist country. In the 80’s, college students in China were attacked by soldiers when they protested against the communist regime that was in power. Those who were not killed by the soldiers were arrested on charges (which were complete B.S., by the way) of “trying to cause a riot” or something along those lines. In reality, the government simply did not like people that say they are against the way the country is being run. Also, the communist governments really seem to be opposed to freedom of the press or even freedom of speech since they tried to make all internet servers in China unable to show search results for thing such as “Freedom”, or “Democracy”. Furthermore, the communist governments of the world don’t seem to like people who have initiative or ingenuity, as they don’t seem to want people to start their own companies, but rather force everyone to either join the army or be in the government.
Socialism is founded on many of the same corrupt beliefs of communism, but the government also owns all the companies within the country or countries it is established in. Take Bolivia for example. The government became socialist and the free mining operations there were suddenly absorbed into one state- run company called COMIBOL, which failed miserably. Socialist and communist governments are only good at a few things and these things are: Killing people (especially their own), censoring everything even remotely related to freedom, stealing everyone else’s ideas, and wasting money. In case no one has noticed, every country that was formerly communist or socialist but is now a democracy is either completely bankrupt or too far in debt to ever get back to even being poor (look at what happened to Russia). Furthermore, they never do anything to stop real criminals such as the Russian mob or the Triads. When Russia was communist, the Russian mafia had no real problems and simply changed their operations from white- collar crime to running the black market in the Soviet Union. Even though everyone including the government knew of the mob’s existence, they did nothing about it because those who wanted to stop the mafia were either dead or powerless to stop them and everyone else was on the mafia’s payroll or simply did not care about them.
Notes:
- I don’t care how much this offends people’s political views, so go and whine somewhere else because your complaints will fall on deaf ears. By the way, if any communists are reading this, don’t try and chew my head off or censor me. Everyone hates communists and no one really cares if they find something offensive because everything is offensive to communists.
