Dream Prowler The dogs will begin to howl just as I begin my prowl. The cats begin to scurry; but, I’m not in a hurry. A shadow along the wall, a noise in a darkened hall, Giving little girls a fright, I slip in and out of sight. I’m waiting for you alone, feeling safe and snug at home. Beware, what you cannot see. In hiding, it may be me. When you pull the shades at night, before you turn out the light, Always check under the bed I’m the horror that you dread. Under the covers you hide alone -- with the tears you cried. I wait until you’re asleep Then into your dreams I’ll creep. With ghoul and goblin and ghost and that which you fear the most I’ll come to your bed at night with terrors, nightmares and fright. So, when shadows cross your wall, when creepy noises fill your hall, Listen as you hear dogs howl, announcing me on my prowl.
