I’ll come to your bed at night / with terrors, nightmares and fright.

Dream Prowler

The dogs will begin to howl
just as I begin my prowl.
The cats will start to scurry;
but, I’m not in a hurry.

A shadow along the wall,
a noise in a darkened hall,
Giving little girls a fright,
I slip in and out of sight.

When you are at home alone
feeling safe in your own zone
Beware, what you cannot see,
in hiding, it may be me.

When you pull the shades at night,
before you turn out the light,
Always check under the bed,
I’m the horror that you dread.

Under the covers you hide,
alone -- with the tears you cried.
I wait until you’re asleep
Then into your dreams I’ll creep.

With ghoul and goblin and ghost,
and that which you fear the most,
I’ll come to your bed at night,
with terrors, nightmares and fright.

After shadows cross your wall,
when creepy noises fill your hall,
Listen as you hear dogs howl,
announcing me on my prowl.
