Looking ‘Way Back Drove a ’51 Ford I painted flat black. I kept that ‘rod floored on the road and track. Five bucks in the tank around town we’d cruise. Lot of beer we drank to Summertime Blues. Cruising the drive-ins, for burgers and coke. We’d have to chip in until we were broke. We’d drive around town, drag the streets ’till dark. When the sun went down find someplace to park. Kiss in the back seat, try for second base. Sweet, soft summer heat, a smile on my face. Life was easy then and the pace was slow. Want it back again, so long, long ago.
