My views on Celtic Women, music and thoughts.

I love the musical group Celtic Women. They sing beautifully and you can understand how their music relates to Celtic Women of those brave and admirable women who lived long ago.

Like the song Danny Boy. Danny could have been a young man that a Celtic woman loved or a son or a husband that died in battle. The woman misses the young man and he will forever in her heart.
Orca Flow. This makes me feel like I am on a ship sailing over the ocean from Ireland to England to visit someone special or maybe I am a Celtic woman going into battle. When I listen to the Celtic Women CD, I feel like I am in Ireland in the beautiful forests or maybe walking along the green hills and valleys. The music relaxes you and with the beautiful singing and violin and flutes playing and it is easy to imagine the beauty of Ireland. The Last Rose Of Summer song, you can see the last rose and shudder when you think that winter is on it's way. Celtic women were brave and led men into battle as well as married and raised families.

In the song, Newgrange:
There is a place in the east
Mysterious ring, a magical ring of stones
The druids lived there once they said
Forgotten is the race that no one knows.

The Druids were a part of Celtic culture. The ring may have been a present to a Celtic woman from her lover but maybe she was a Celtic Princess not ready to commit even though she loved the young man who gave it to her. In the song Carrickfergus, a young woman sees ships in the ocean thinking about the man she loves and remembers their last embrace and kisses. Celtic women were on a mission but their hearts were vulnerable to love. There is so many things I could say about the Celtic Women, the musical group and the women we admire from long ago but I just love to listen to their music and think about the Celtic women who lived before and what their lives were like. It is like therapy and a stress reliever for me from the stress that I have in my life at times. We can be thankful for women like the Celtic Women who paved the way for us women and we enjoy our lives as we have careers and marriages, love, children and enjoy the good things in life. We will never forget women who lived long ago and had a rough time of it. We should be thankful for the lives we have today and we can do anything just like the Celtic Women who lived years ago. Listen to the Celtic Woman CD's and you will be there and a Celtic woman.
