"Aaron, it wouldn't hurt anything for her to spend the night at her friends," Mom tells Dad.

"I don't want her to be out tonight, and that's final," Dad states for the fifth time.

"All I want to know is why you wont let me!" I say in a reasonable voice.

"Because I said so! And you better not ask again!" Dad growls out between clinched teeth.

Mom interjects, "Sherise, you're crossing the line."

I whine, "But Daddy, all I want to do is spend the night at--" Uh Oh, Dad's face is turning red, I think.

"That's it!" Dad roars, "you're getting a spanking." He lunges towards me and squealing I run to my room, slamming and locking my door a bare second before he reaches it. "Open that door, this instant!" Dad shouts, shaking the door knob.

"Yeah right! I'm not falling for that one," I mumble. Leaning against the door, I shout, "No! I don't want a spanking!"

"Open this door, or I'll..I'll break it down!"

"Come on, Dad, you wouldn't do that."

"I'm warning you, open this door immediately."

"No!" I shout. I scurry across my room seconds before my door is kicked open, splintered wood flying. My mouth gaping, I exclaim, "Daddy!"

Dad stands there, a shocked look on his face and he meets my eyes. Suddenly we both dissolve into gales of laughter. He gasps out, "I told you!"

"I think you're both crazy," Mom says, shaking her head.
