My heart it once was broken Tormented, torn apart It ached with every passing day It felt it would never start My heart it longed for better times For things no longer here It ached for lack of love It tore a bigger tear A valiant heart it kept on trying To find a way back home For it had given itself to him And he decided to roam A heart can only take so much Before it finally has enough It either withers up and dies Or it becomes quite tough My heart is true and strong now It won't give up the fight And if he does not cherish it Then it will take flight It'll fly away back home to me And here it will remain For a heart that has been broken Can never remain the same
