The Moon And Stars

I was alone on a bright peaceful night
Gazing out the window at the moonlight
The stars were glittering in the sky
Like a million tiny fireflies

Then my mind began to wonder why
God created the moon and stars in the sky
And as I stood and stared into space
The moon and stars took on another face

The face of God stood in place of the moon
Shining so bright it lit up my room
Then all the stars from far and wide
Became angels standing at God's side

As these events started to unfold
I realized a story I was being told
Showing me the real reason why
God created the moon and stars in the sky

The moon is to remind us God is our light
And He'll stand by us if we're living right
The stars are angels helping us to recall
They'll pick us up as we stumble and fall

To many the stars appear as fireflies
As they haven't given God their lives
And the moon to them is only for moonlight
How could it be more without God's insight

Turning from the window I went to bed
Knowing it was by God's spirit I was led
To understand the real reason why
God created the moon and stars in the sky
