Bridge To My Lover
A plea to a distant lover

Bridge To My Lover

In your arms I am home;
Your smile lights my soul.
Your eyes reflect a perfect image
Of God, and I want to swim in them--
The healing waters of Eden.

Never have I been touched so deeply,
Nor so profoundly by another;
And another touch I shall never need.
Please trust in His perfect will,
And hold my hand across the stormy seas.
Don't turn away from me but towards me
When turning away becomes easy.

Cleave to me and I will cleave to you.
When you can't see that I am near,
Due to some imaginary division,
Then close your beautiful eyes and feel
The warmth of my breath upon your sweet face.
