Cinquiano on Horses Horses, talking through face, ears and motion. Oft it flares to shouting, all emotion. Moving! The Cinquiano is a variation on the Cinquain. It is a single stanza poem of five lines, totalling 22 syllables. The syllable count is 2 / 8 / 6 / 4 / 2 syllables per line. (The Cinquain has a 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 2 syllable count.) I had originally written this as a Cinquain. Now, for the 'A Poem A Day Contest' I have made it into a Cinquiano and changed a weak line. It's much more to my liking now. The Cinquiano fits actually better with this little poem than the Cinquain.
