NEWS FROM HOME Pouring again. I opened the green umbrella to make a dash for the mailbox. An umbrella is not much help when the wind makes the rain fall sideways. The trip to the mailbox was worth it. The hometown weekly newspaper I still take had arrived. I don't exactly know why I enjoy the Carthaginian so much, maybe because it's nice to know there is a small town somewhere where nothing changes. First to the society page, see what people back home are up to. There's a picture of bride and groom. Hey, I know these people, especially him. I went out with him when I lived in Carthage. So he finally got married! I wanted to save this picture. I cut it out with the scissors from my sewing basket. It’s a picture of him with his bride. She's so pretty and he looks happy. I hope he's happy. I just wish that were I in the beautiful white dress. 162 words
