NATIONAL MUDDY ROADS DAY

I chose to live on an old dirt road,
like those that do, I have been told
how to survive the days of early Spring
and the misfortunes that it can bring!

We pay the man who comes to tow
almost wishing for ten degrees below.
We are in the mud, so deep and thick,
getting through would be a good trick!

It is a quite a magnificent patch of muck,
even a Heavenly angel could get stuck!
I think it should become a special day,
these muddy roads that come our way.

All the cars and trucks that get stuck
in that fearsome, awesome lot of muck
could congregate and celebrate the sun
that warms the mud, as we come undone.

A tailgate party with prizes for all
when in the mud we seem to stall,
would give us some reason to smile
as we try to get through another mile.
