AMERICA - LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!

I saw it on the news today and it took my breath away,
people lining a Portland street, burned American flag at their feet!
An American soldier burned in effigy, that really offends me!
So many have died to keep people like you FREE!

Freedom of speech, you can do and say
anything you want, it is quite okay -
And that freedom of speech is given all
by the soldiers who answered America's call.

That flag you burned, our red, white and blue,
shows your true colors, through and through!
I was a soldier, and I am proud of that fact -
In writing this, I'll show you what you lack!

You lack the courage and the will to survive
the bombs and bullets and come out alive;
body bags and flag-draped coffins sent home,
They died for you, and you cast that stone!

Spit in the face of a soldier and he will fight
to protect your freedom, it is quite all right.
America - love it or leave it, I don't care
but you hurt the soldiers fighting over there!

You haven't the guts and you haven't the brain
to see what you are doing to those who remain
In a war-torn hell where they risk their lives
every day, every night, yet they hear your lies!

If you need something better to do today -
become a soldier and learn the price they pay.
Freedom isn't free and it's no joking matter,
I'm sick and tired of your whining chatter.

Play with matches, you'll get burned!
All of America has to have learned
your actions are uncalled for, a shame!
You call America home, and play this game.

I write this with a sense of pure disgust
that you do what you think you must;
Long may our flag wave over free men
and never be burned in America again!
