Eyes

Tonight,
I wonder
Who’s on my side?
For these two eyes I trusted
have chose to disown me.
Shall I let them go
as I’ve all others?
For now they have a life of their own
and I don’t want to cage them down.
I wanna let them BE
and not command or rule.
For I have been unable
to know what lies beneath.
Too engrossed in myself
I forgot they existed,
I chose to ignore
and now should I blame them
For leaving me alone?
They’d had enough
and now I’ll let them free
coz now, they don’t belong to me.
They show a reality
Different from mine
and I wish for the transparency to resign.
The look in them
makes me shudder
with what I may find beneath.
I want them to hide
behind that curtain of mine
and let the puddle dry itself out.
For my world needs no life of ‘its’ own
to revert me back
to the path I left behind.
For I’m on a journey
Towards the Darkness of mind…
