April Fools'

Wake up b'ye, so ya' can know.
She’s froze over, blocked up with snow.
Blacked out the power, the water's ice cold.
Taking a shower in ice water is bold.

Are you kidding, just joking around,
‘Cause its April the first come round?
No you say? Just go jump in;
You'll believe when that frost hits your skin.

So I have a glance, through my window to know.
And hear with great gusto, "She's froze solid." said Joe.
I knew it, I told ya', me brother my kin,
This first of April, iced the power lines in.

So I say to Joe, "Hay Joe my kin,
Shouldn't we be laughing cause April's come in?"
Joe looks at me, like I've dough in me head.
"Don't worry b'ye, Aprils' first is bound to fool Ned."

So I look at Joe, and that's when I said,
"Why can ya' tell me, is Ned in your head?"
“I'm not so sure b'ye, to tell ya' the truth,
Ned comes and goes, like some foolish sleuth.”

And so it is here, April fools' round again,
That don't really matter for me, Joe, and Ned.
'Cause the pipes frozen solid.
Aprils' fool is the calling; a cold shower the dread.
