Your Beauty

Your Beauty

I looked upon you
Your beauty enamored me
You were comparable to Aphrodite
My what splendid features you had

I could not look away
You held me captive by trance
I succumbed to your charm
The fight you made me struggle long

I could not stop time
What was I ever to do to win you
The fire within burned like the sun
My desperation was that of Achilles

I tried to impress
This folly is not like me
Then I catch your eye and all reason eludes
My heart is bound up

My brain plays games
I'm going to go insane
You're not looking for love
My sole wish is that single purpose

Don't torture me anymore
Leave me all alone
To my dreams I must go
To love and admire you restore

This virtuous cause razed
My temple simply shattered
All thoughts turn to you
My body pleads be taken

My lust for you is like Apollo's Love
But these feelings inside lay dormant
For time and space don't exist
Nothing can mar your beauty

Compared to you Venus is a hag
Oh that Plato or Socrates could see
Even Shakespeare is at a loss for words
You can't describe the feeling

You make my journey short
Life without you would be dull
I'm captivated in thick emotion
It's pure and simple and full of devotion

I need you to see
That I am in a cell
Oh that I could have you
Then the angel chorus would swell

The time is nigh
For me to declare my feelings
You simply need to understand
Your Beauty holds me bound
