Creepy Neighbours

Two horrible vipers live next to me.
Him and his woman are viciously mean.
They each drip with venom whenever they’re seen.
They do things of evil wrapped up just for me.

When I met those two vipers sheep’s clothing I'd seen.
They smiled and nodded, and said yes, thank you, please.
But the clothes that they wear don’t fit them to well.
Making it clear they were wolves straight from hell.

The seasons passed from one to the next.
Those two neighbor vipers sat proud in their nest.
Both looking for ways to make my life a mess.
Showing their bloody fangs when met with success.

There are a couple of trails I can take on this slope.
I can cry out for vengeance and cut both of their throats.
Or I can be a true man and know in the end,
I’ve lived up to my values, forgiving their sins.

So as my days pass, bringing on seasons end,
I stroke my gray beard, knowing I’ll not pretend.
To let my vicious neighbors take off in deceit,
Or think they have won with their games of defeat.
