REAWAKENING NATURE: an acrostic
[An acrostic built on the words: REAWAKENING NATURE] Rising sun every morning in the East Endows the earth with welcome shine and warmth. Although it is destined to set again, Winter’s cruel bite it, in fact, lessens. Although winter nights are dark and dreadful, Kaleidoscopic are the nature’s ways. Enjoy the winter and summer and spring. No season lasts for more than a few months. In as much as humans depend on it, Nature to man is truly bountiful. Gone are now those days when man did revere Nature and referred to it as Mother. Ashamed ought to feel all those big nations, That burn the fossil fuels in excess. Unless they learn to be responsible, Regrettable will be their inaction. ENSURE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. • Written in pentameter • Awarded second place and merit badge in "The Bard's Hall Contest" M C Gupta 5 April 2007
