for C.W.M.
a remembrance of a love not yet faded

This item requires reviews with ratings.
it circles the lake, a natural expanding of the river,
with rocky cascades and smaller bubbling pools upstream,
this sandy road,
lined by majestic Laricio pines reaching for the skies
and copper colored boulders which reflect in the muted sunlight
this is the path
of my secluded wanderings
searching for a disappearing soul
which flees my grasp like the crystal blue water
this is the path
of my quest
seeking those dark melancholy eyes which seduced me
disrupting my static life in a single furtive glance
which has haunted me ever since
this is the path
where I once found absolute love
for an idyllic week under a dazzling summer sky
yet the richness of those days has finally outlasted
the pale hopes of my lifetime
this is the path
where I return to the welcome echo of that time
whenever destiny and I can agree
seeking the indigo delight of your specter
and the quiet promise you showed me
I could sustain
