The boy disappeared into the forest. He was five and it was cold out there. Everyone searched, without success. As darkness fell, his mother cried. His father swore.
With a grin, the wolf came out of the trees, carrying the laughing child on his shoulders. The sheriff shot the wolf. The boy cried for weeks. (55 word story)
