BLUE SKY AND DARK SHADOWS: a sonnet
Remember when the sky was vast and blue, Resplendent with many a floating cloud? Life had every day a different hue. “Enjoy”, life had a message clear and loud. Remember when a million lamps did dance In sunshine in the waters of the lake? Lengthening shadows in moonlight did prance, As by its side we lay often awake. Those days and nights, now in oblivion, Are still fresh in my heart and in my mind. Though you have put them now out of vision, How can I put those memories behind? Verily now I do live in the past. Dark shadows on my future are now cast. • Awarded Honorable Mention award in "SENIOR CENTER FORUM" * Earlier posted as entry 493614 in the book "LOVE POEMS" M C Gupta 9 March 2007
