A poetical reply
To the letter you sent,
Dear Mrs. Lawgall,
Is my intent.

The last day you saw me,
It is quite true,
My feelings were definitely
A shade of blue.

The time that you spent
In preparing that letter,
Is well appreciated
As it made me feel better.

The encouragement and praise
That you wrote down,
Has helped wipe away
My terrible frown.

The Scripture verse
That you related,
Has left me feeling
Quite elated.

I certainly do appreciate
Your kind words and your prayers,
I trust my life to the good Lord
Knowing that He cares.

I have determined
In my heart,
To soldier on
And do my part.

And though my future
Seems yet unclear,
I will hold onto Him
Who is always near.

There'll be other times when I am weak,
But His strength will prevail.
Perhaps He'll use a saint like you
To send a letter in the mail.
