On this day, so many years ago.
Many of us came together, friend or foe.

Through bombs and explosions where near,
On our faces was not fear.

But looking to help our fellow man.
And wished that all evil be damned.

So many people were tortured and in pain.
Why did they do this, what was there to gain?

An outrage this was, but what did we do,
We supported each other and together we came through.

They ripped out our hearts and threw them away.
But we stood together, that dreadful day.

Cared for each other, we gave it all we had.
Though most of us were quite sad.

Now as we look back, and hold our heads high,
We rebuild our lives and pray to the sky,

That nothing like this will ever happen again,
And if it must surely good will win.

Hopefully all those innocent victims have rejoiced in heaven,
As we know, no one will ever forget the horrifying attacks on 9/11.
