This Summer
This poem is about making the best with what you have and leaving the rest up to fate.

Let's take this summer and drop all the rules
We can keep going until the passion cools
Let's not think about the future, present or past
We can take on adventures, living fast
Let's take this summer and learn about life
We can forget our hearts, beating in strife
Let's experience the world, hand in hand
We can lay on the beach with the sun and the sand
Let's take this summer and start to trust
We can leave this place behind, in a cloud of dust
Let's keep moving to keep our minds clear
We can't stop or in comes the fear
Let's take this summer and learn how to love
We can start, take our thoughts, and give them a shove
Let's make this count and forget about the fall
We can forget you're leaving, give it our all
Let's take this summer and hold on tight
We can learn from each other, make everything right
Let's kiss one last time and watch the stars in the sky
We can live our lives this summer, before we have to say goodbye
