It was, what was suppose to be, the happiest day of her life. It was the day that her parents have been waiting for 20 years. It was Allie’s Storybook Wedding, but no one especially the groom knew what was on her mind.

Allie was in her fantasy land dream again where the knight in shining armor riding the white horse came riding in. With lance positioned to challenge anyone man enough to stop him. In her fairytale, this knight, this man came riding up and snatched her gracefully from the alter and they gracefully rode off into the safety of his castle. This valiant warrior of her heart wouldn’t let her marry the man she was now standing next to. In her fantasy this marriage taking place around her was arranged since her birth. This was not a union of two people but of two countries. A marriage of convenience, not one of love.

“Allie” said the photographer, “can you turn this way and smile”

She did what she was asked, turned and smiled. She blinked and in that brief second she saw her white knight and decided to enjoy this vision. He was six foot tall, with his dark blonde hair, his piercing blue eyes, and his modest good looks. He wore a pair of new overalls with a t-shirt. He had a John Deere baseball cap and a red handkerchief hanging from his right back pocket. And his lance, well that was a well used pitch fork.

Through her closed eyes she seen a flash of light. She opened her eyes and she knew that her dream was over because she wore the ring of another man. She would have to live with her thoughts that there is someone more suited to her wants and needs than the man she married. She would always look at the wedding photo with her thoughts and one day...

One day, almost twelve years later she met him. She didn’t meet him in the usual way, she wasn’t at Wal*Mart buying a pair of socks. She wasn’t at the grocery store squeezing melons, or even at the doctor's office getting her corns removed. Nope she met him on the internet in a chat room. It wasn’t something she planned on doing she was just on-line watching all the desperate people trying to find someone to relieve some stress in their daily lives. She was on, putting these people down when a person with the log on name of “themilkman” came into the room.
Immediately she thought that he was a flirt because after saying “Hello room” like they all do he gives a cyber rose to all the ladies. Allie had to put in her sarcastic two cents in by responding with “Oh! Please”.
It was more than obvious that "themilkman" was intrigued by this “grapapple” as Allie called herself. So he began to address his comments to her. After some very small talk "themilkman" asked if she would “whisper” him and she responded with why don’t you do the gentlemanly thing. This must have taken him by surprise because the screen was empty from his comments for a good minute and then Allie's screen began to flash. She looked down and seen that "themilkman" was whispering her.
Allie wasn’t sure what to do now, but eventually she responded with an “hello”
From that point on there was no turning back, they both fell into cyberspace. Never to be seen again, at least that is what is happening in their dreams. In the real world Allie is still married and Sam, as he is called, is going through his second divorce. Only fate, destiny, luck, a runaway truck, or another natural disaster will ever bring them together.
But Allie still has the picture, Sam still has his desires for Allie, and together they have become pretty good friends.

the end
