Home Star
Somehow, I know that that’s our star, Alone, apart from all the others, A yellow speck, now nothing more. Eons ago away sailed Joy. My father said those billions we left, Lived on a world wide and blue. Fauna and flora countless they had. Yet, poison in every form they gave, Till in ruins their home became. I learned today that those remaining, Refusing to see, though having sight, With nary a worry went extinct.
