Lament

The eternal sadness sweeps over me,
Like a dark tsunami of hate and fury it crashes into me,
Tears cease to flow, leaving only burning in my eyes,
My shoulders shake uncontrollably as the grief returns,
Renewed and redoubled
Tears flow freely down my face
My heart shudders like it has been pierced with a blade
My future dwindles into the distance
And I cry out with raged breath;
Why can you not let me live
Why?
