SHACKLES OF LOVE
From my own shackles of love, I know I can't be free. If the roots are severed, then, How can survive the tree? I have loved with all my heart. You know that it is true. Yet having loved you so much, This very fact I rue. I can’t get away from you, For that would be my death. I’m destined to live with you Till the very last breath. Yet I can’t help wishing that Your love I did not miss. Is it too much to expect That you give me a kiss? • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format • Awarded Second Prize in the ‘Musical Inspirations Contest –Poetry’ , "Musical Inspirations Contest " M C Gupta 22 April 2007
