The Memories of a Song
Its amazing how one song can bring back a summer time of memories

One song. Thats all it took.
And not even the whole song,
just a chorus, thirty seconds in all.
That's all it took for it all to come back.

All those memories,
It seems like almost forever ago.
In reality its been only six months,
but tonight it seems like yesterday.

That song, the one thing I can't handle
For that was the first time I've heard it
in these incredibly long six months.
How can one song affect me so?

That one song brought back
him. her. me. us. our friendships.
our love. our lives. our plans.
broken promises sworn to last forever.

It brought back the memory
of hope that we once had,
that we would never end,
that our friendships would be forever.

That one song, brought back everything.
Everything that I've tried to forget
on one of my most lonesome days of all.
A perfect ending to a horrid two weeks.
