The Quiet
Another poem that I wrote about just pushing on and looking forward.

In the quiet of the meadow lay,
be free from the pressures and troubles of the day.
For the lies that rattle cause us to stray,
it's time for us to shake the ties of our courtesy and quiet.
Make this promise to yourself to be who you are and live by it.
Why must you continue to suffer in silence?
For what spreads abound like wild fire
to tie our thoughts to root us down.
It's time you see this life you're living,
is a life tormented by shallow simplicity.
Words and goods to hold us down,
troubled faces scorn with frowns.
I tell you now where darkness lies
I tell you now of better times
Come follow me I’ll hold you near,
come follow me we’re in the clear.
Closer now then ever before,
closer now we can push to the fore.
In the quiet of the meadow lay
Press on to the promise
Of another day.
