                                              My Heart

There's this empty place inside of me
that no one else can see.
It longs for love and tenderness
and one man's company.

It bears the hurt I feel each day
of one I love in every way.
He doesn't see nor understand
the things I ask are not demands.

This empty place, it's filled with pain
but try as I might, it still remains.
It builds me up, then tears me apart,
for what I feel for him is deep in my heart.

I cannot laugh, I must not cry,
for the man I love has said good-bye.
The hurt is deep, it's taking up space,
for now it fills that empty place.
