Purr-Fect Love
Just a lil something I wrote for my cat.

Watching me diligently through yellow eyes,
Calling frequently for me with soft, warm cries.

Always painstakingly keeping me in your sight,
Lest something unseen, and unheard, should give you a fright.

Following behind without making a sound,
My wafting scent, to your tiny, pink nose, is bound.

Keeping pace, with my shadow, through all the obstructions,
Pausing only to sniff your own littered construction.

Swiftly falling back into the cloud of gloom,
Patiently waiting to strike, in the next room.

Crouching low, as your body goes taut and shivers,
Sweat beading, and running, from my head like rivers.

Which way did you go, where are you hiding?
Sitting ever so still while time, your biding.

A sudden streak of sherbert orange, a soft, careful pounce,
Announces your arrival, in my arms, with a bounce.

Looking up at my face, with almost a grin, you purr,
My hand automatically stroking your fine, silky fur.

Your love is mischievous and unconditional,
A friendship so true, that it's almost fictional.
