Beginnings
Taking the first step

These streets I walk in the darkness,
I remember how they looked in the dawn.
Been humming softly to myself
since leaving the silence of my room
when the sound of my own voice awoke me
as I called your name out loud.
And this elevator ride, so empty this time of night.
Top floor all the way.
Moonlight, breathe on my face. Try to help me understand.
My only perspective is gone.
So caught up in this rush of life.
Your smile....I smile....weightless at last.
That was how I found you. With a smile on your face.
Always a smile.
So hey hey, genuine May....
won't you look my way....
again?
