Passing By
An old thought revisited

Staring out into darkened skies
Thinking about your smile
And how it sparkled, just for me
For such a little while

Thinking of those days now past
Though not so long ago
Of all the words I didn't say
How far we didn't go.

Thinking how I walked on by
Passing in the night
Missing you by inches there
While shadows blocked your light

But now I'm coming back around
And finding out you're gone
You left me standing here alone
Singing out our song.

Left me asking how I could
Have ever been so wrong.
When its you that I've been wanting
And needing all along.
