Reassurance ...
The choices we make in life ...

As I sit and watch the afterglow

Its coloured fingers brush my mind

I reminisce about the fleeting years

And memories left so far behind ...

Of all the dreams and aspirations

Like the sunsets from my past

Passing quickly from my fragile life

As my body ages fast ...

My soul yearning for the future

My heart holds tight to what could have been

While all my dreams and aspirations

Are lost somewhere in between ...

Then I see that little life

As the colours outside fade

And there I have my reassurance

For all the choices that I've made ...
