Remembering A Son
A poem I wrote for a son at Christmas.

The holidays are here again
Amidst joy and family gatherings
Of Christmas cheer
Spill memories of you Chris.

Even though ten years have gone by
Coming up January
It still seems like just yesterday
You were here.

No matter how hard I try
I just can't hold back a tear or two
Thinking of you
Missing you.

How beautiful you were
How much you meant to all of us!
I know you are spending
Christmases with your Dad now
Yet we down here still feel our loss.

Merry Christmas, Chris.

Love, Mom

"Give sorrow words
The grief that does not speak
Whispers the o'erfraught heart
And bids it break
."
