ADAM AND EVE: award winner
If one day life ends on earth, Followed by a cold night, And, after eons there is, Again, a ray of light, Will He forgive man for his Having destroyed the earth, Through pollution and the nukes, Of which he had no dearth? Will humans be there again? Will God make an Adam? Will He, in His wisdom, Eve, From Adam’s rib fathom? Will He create woman to Live in the man’s shadow? Of her subjugation, will He have a repeat show? If God creates them, at all, Then truly I believe: He will ensure Adam is Made from the rib of Eve. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. • Awarded first prize in "Poetry's Prism " M C Gupta 5 May 2006
