GATES OF REASON
When all that matters is but skin, When beauty lies in being but thin; When life is ruled by sight and smell, When being plain is simply like hell; When manners are but painted smile, When fashion rules us all the while; When real substance is shadowed, When gates of reason are narrowed; It’s then that man’s progress declines. Each man his route himself defines. • Written in aa, bb 8-8 format • I was inspired to write it by "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 12 May 2007
