WE THE PEOPLE
some thoughts that make me uncomfortable.

                                          WE THE PEOPLE
                                      Uncomfortable Thoughts

We are all born to live and we all live to die.
Somewhere in the middle is this exsistence we have come to call life.
Where we go, where we have been and where we end up
becomes jumbled up in the everyday reality of living.
We become so tangled up in yesterday's past, we lose sight of tomorrow's future.
We refuse to accept the unexpected, yet we expect the unaccepted.
We can always forgive and forget what we have done to others,
but not what others have done to us.
We tend to put hatred, injustice, malise and prejudice ahead of
love, justice, compassion and understanding.
We measure others by their failures and ourselves by our sucesses.
We tag people who are different with names that degrade and hurt,
because we do not understand, but fear what is different.
We gladly release all that we are worthy of and sadly embrace all that is worthless.
We defend the compromise of our principles with undying weakness
and attack the principle of compromise with a dying strength.
We are quick to judge those that have the courage to be different
and slow to find the difference for that courage.
We are short on forgiveness and long on revenge.
We cannot live in this world alone or together, so where does that leave us?
