Between the Soldier and the Man
They sat there talking to each other one was someone's son, the other someone's brother one was dressed in uniform with Private on his sleeve he was headed home now on temporary leave One was going to see his mother, he'd been away awhile he couldn't wait to see her, just a few more miles one's name was Danny, the others name was Dan one was a soldier, the other just a man One fights for freedom so others can live one lives for justice with all he can give they talked on for hours of things they never knew love, honor, and country just to name a few At the end of their conversation they each would understand there could be no secrets between the soldier and the man.
