Mother of Eden stands poised among chaos
On the axis of our world, in elegant rule.
Though Poplar’s lone branch o’er Her dwarf beauty looms,
Her petite presence commands the whole plot.
Ever Queen of the May, the most favored spot
Raining cascades of fairy white blooms.

For decades She bowed before trellis and shears
To accept Her low lot in the grove of delight-
One man’s humble design for his proud devout wife.
While Autumn’s lush produce bears rainbow’s parade
Only She wears bright prayer flags in burgeoning shade-
A right effort for our Tree of Life.

She guided Her caretaker through heaven’s gate,
Dipped weeping iced branches in humble respect.
And yielding a bounty of love unexplained,
Drew tender memories of days long erased
A smile delivered by luscious fruit’s taste-
Blessed grace to the one who remained.

In Her arms impish kitten sharpened her claws
Chasing curious prey from her feline domain;
Now lame, lazy manx reins as Queen of the Nap,
But musters the strength for arrogant chatter
Surveying fluffy-tailed squirrels' frantic scatter,
Secure boughs hold weak limbs in Her lap.

She anchored the altar--arbor and backdrop--
As ancestors alighted on slight supple twigs,
Sang mantras of peace, blessing palm bound to palm.
When unity’s candle faded to glow
And passion’s miasma fanned up from below
She embraced lovers’ shuddering calm.

A cherub descended, fresh Daughter of Earth
The gurgling plump blur swung on safest low limb,
Snatching through squeals at the chirruping birds.
Daring pink darling, bare feet clamber fast
To steal the prize seat in dense treetop at last;
While her mom swallows cautioning words.

O
ur minute retreat stops an hourless city
For here an exposed apple’s star holds no sin-
Eternity lies within summer’s red berry.
Dark Evils don't lurk behind fig hearts unfurled;
Epic leaves do not speak every Truth in this world;
Nature’s Wisdom resides in the Cherry.
