My Freedom is You
I wrote this for a friends book. A prison inmate writes to his love.

You are why I write and the y in my rhyme.
my saving salvation as I do my time
within these imprisoning walls of concrete halls
that mutate, mutilate and incarcerate all!

To articulate the pouring out of my love’s abundance
is my heart’s way for it’s exclamation
It resounds joyfully at being your only captive
for in you is its release as I await my emancipation.

My words are neither fraudulent nor frivolous.
They contain no ambiguity or ambivalence
Their truism spiked by my hearts desire
to be with the woman I do so admire.

My veritable freedom awaits your imposing verdict.
Unlock this lonely soul that waits in anticipation.
Seize our love my lady; embrace its taste.
Accept this mans unending love and dedication.
