Just because I smile,
Don't assume that I'm happy,
Just because I laugh,
Don't think that I'm okay,
If you see me cry,
The tears have seeped through my smiling mask,
If you hear me scream,
The pain has become too much to bear,
If you see me cry,
Don't pretend my tears aren't there,
If you hear me scream,
Don't turn your face away.

I need you standing beside me.

I want you standing beside me.

Don't leave me here to die,
Nameless, faceless, voiceless, soulless,
In the pouring rain
Of an indifferent world.
