Honoring Your Presence
describing a difficult break-up, where we couldn't let go of our former relationship

I kneel before your holy silence
Both praise, and pleading in my words.
I chant a prayer of sinfulness,
A longing for my tomb.

It's forgiveness that I beg for,
A confirmation of your love.
Whether I'm sent to heaven, or
To your temple far below.

Release my promises like incense,
Let me free to roam alone,
And never again will I bless your name.
Never from the fire I return.

A communion of voices reach me,
Claiming me as their own.
But our history's creed I'm sworn to.
Your divine servant I've become.
