Amid the Rain
Amid the rain - Amid the rain I stand in pain, claiming who I am.

Amid the Rain

Amid the rain
I stand in pain,
Claiming who I am.
In my world
Judgment swirls;
A place to light my wrath.
Waves of time,
Have shocked my mind,
To pride the man I am.
The span of rage
In my cage;
God empowers me
To command.

  ~  ~

In great chorus,
The caged bird roars free.
On the bird's wings
I fly from the pain.
Knowing in vain,
Pain's mastery of me.
Now, wouldn't you know,
As the clock's circle goes,
Each morning that bird
Flies back to it's cage,

And me.
