Can you hear the Great Spirit cry,
or hear his sorrow as he sighs?
Do you hear his song in the wind,
or understand the message it sends?
Can you feel the rain from the sky?
Do you know they are tears from his eyes?
The Great Spirit weeps for our Mother Earth.
The beautiful land for which he gave birth.
Do you know how much he has wept?
Look upon the ocean's depth.
Can you feel that he loves us all?
Despite our many faults.
There is no room in his heart for blame.
For he loves all his children the same.
So do you know why the Great Spirit cries?
Look for the answer in your childs eyes.
