Watching and Waiting
a short thing about waiting

I sit here in the dead of night, wandering alone out of fear or fright. Is He out there watching me,keeping me in His sight, just out of view where I can't see.I don't know if He even exist, whose to say He is not a Miss. If were as plain as the nose on my face would I even notice unless they said something out of place. I don't know, and I am not sure that any longer I care. Suffice it to say that hope is a fleeting thing, I have placed it in Your hands for safe keeping. Will You treat it as though it were as precious as gold or will You just toss it back at me with a soft scold? See this place below my chin, it is just bare skin. Does it need an adornment to know who I am?
No, I just need You to understand. Time and again we have had this talk, but it never seems to get past the beginning and You balk. If it were me dragging my feet, what would You do?
A silly question I know but still I ask You.
You would pull me along behind You as pretty as You please never caring that I was still on my knees.
But since it is You and not me , I suppose You expect some dignity. Time to think, time to ponder, all the while I am left to wonder.
Do I need You to tell me who I am? Maybe every now and then. Is it something that will be? I have no clue I have left the answer up to You.
So with these words I will leave for now ,but see that the time does not fall past an hour.
For but an hour I will wait, then everything else is left up to fate.
