The Truth
Inspired by the phrase 'polite society' ;)

I eat up my thoughts, and crunch them with bleeding teeth. Take care... easy now... Don't go too far, or you'll slip into the abyss. That pool of light of unfathomable depth, so brilliant and pure that it hurts to look. But sometimes I wonder what it would be like to drink from those waters... will my tongue bring forth flaming words that scorch and destroy, or build and restore? It will forever be an enigma to me, shrouded in a thousand misgivings of the conscience. Unless, of course, I try...

Standing at the edge of this mysterious chasm, I steel my heart and mind for the truth.
