The Characters: Aiken4LOTRisMIA4now   Name: Aidan Kerregen Age: He has lived nearly 10,000 long years on the earth, but he appears to be in his mid-twenties by human standards. Race: His race is unknown as is much of his past. He is assumed to be of Elven heritage as he does have some elf-like qualities and is an immortal being. Gender: Male Location: Aidan is a traveler and has lived for a time in several different places. Like most travelers, he returns to Cardeluin after stints of visiting the others cities.Cardeluin is considered the melting pot for all races and is very welcoming of visitors and strangers. Personality: Aidan is a traveler at heart, enjoying the cultures and personalities of the different cities that encircle the grand City of Light. He enjoys visiting the Halflings in Pheriannath the most, although he finds himself highly amused by the ways of the Dwarves of Duridaine. His traveling, however, has done strange things to the young man’s personality. Although he has learned how to interact well with people of different lifestyles, the constant journeys from one setting to the next have caused him to be cautious and somewhat mistrusting of others. Altogether, Aidan is a charming and friendly individual. He means well and is a simple traveler in search of meaning. Unbeknownst to him, his traveling ways have helped to form the person he needs to be as the new Keeper. His ease in interacting with others, partnered with his realistically mistrusting eyes are qualities that he must possess in order to properly fufill his inherited position. Appearance: As a traveler, Aidan enjoys being outdoors and on-the-go, and his appearance clearly indicates that. He has broad shoulders and is in decent shape, standing at about 6’2” with a lean, flexible build. His body and skin are tanned and worn from exposure to the sun, which compliment his glittering dark brown eyes (with their odd flecks of amethyst and gold). His hair is also a very dark brown, and it too has elegant wisps of a natural golden color mixed in. His most intriguing feature is his eyes, and his most alluring is his handsome and affectionate smile. He mainly wears dark, riding clothes, fit for any true traveler. Background: He is the Keeper of Secrets’ one and only heir, though he does not know this. Aidan is completely unaware of his heritage and the gift of knowledge that it includes. The previous Seeker was Aidan’s mother. For his safety, he was separated from her, and his true identity was kept from him. When he is found, it is hoped that there is a way to unlock the secrets that he holds in his mind as the new reigning Keeper of Secrets. - - - - - Quaddy  Name: Ahana Arrow-Dancer; called Ahee Age: Hers is an immortal people and she has lived near five millennia, but she looks about twenty. Race: Kai'it- a race of immortal, forest dwelling, shapeshifting humanoids who're basically like Native Americans. If Pocahantas were immortal and could turn into animals, she would be a Kai'it. Gender: Female Location: Born and raised in the forests beyond even Amalith, Ahana has nonetheless left her people to take her place beside the Seeker in Cardeluin. Personality: Ahee is a powerful woman and she knows that she is powerful, so she doesn't try to prove it at all. She carries herself like a member of the nobility, full of grace and femininity, and can be quite a girly girl when the time comes. Ahee likes to have fun, loves to laugh, and looks for the good in all things; she has an appreciation for the simple things in life, and tends to find things amazing that others see as commonplace. Because of this, people find it hard to believe that she is a warrior. Ahee has a strong sense of self, of her people, of her past, and of what it means to be a Kai'it Arrow Dancer. She is loyal, strong-willed, often stubborn, and can be incredibly intimidating both because she doesn't care what other people think of her and because she can kill someone in about ten seconds. Kind, courageous, good-hearted, honorable, and spiritual, Ahee is the perfect Kai'it woman. This, however, tends to get her in trouble in Cardeluin because she isn't submissive and is very independent; she won't follow a rule that she doesn't see the purpose for, and has a strong rebellious streak. All in all, the best word for Ahee is spirited, so she often has problems making and keeping friends. Appearance: Tall, like all Kai'it, Ahee stands at nearly 6'1 and is healthy, with toned muscle and just enough bulk to keep her in optimum shape. She has brown-red skin (again, like Native Americans), long limbs, and a strong bone structure that includes a noble brow/chin combo and really high cheekbones. Long, straight black hair falls to mid-back and strong eyebrows of the same color arch to frame surprisingly light, hazel eyes. She has long, thick lashes, full pink lips, and a staight nose. All-in-all, her features are a little too strong for most men to find her pretty because there is little that is dainty about them, but she is a very striking, noble woman and is definitely attractive. Ahee is perfectly in shape and built like a woman who, if she weren't a warrior, would've been married off in order to bear children. She has an hourglass shape with a small waist, defined bustline, and shapely hips. For some men, she might be a little too toned, but she isn't like Miss Universe or anything. Overall, Ahee is a typical Kai'it woman, since they are a striking race, but is often at odds appearance-wise with the people of Cardeluin. Background: As is typical for a Kai'it Warrior, Ahee was taken at age seven (like a Spartan boy) to begin her training. She was chosen by her peoples' Shaman to become a Warrior because of her extraordinary discipline, even as a small child. Trained within the compound and kept separate from other, non-Warrior children until she came to her majority (2000 years), Ahee learned to make the Shift to other creatures (the mark of the Kai'it) much more quickly and easily than the rest of her people. She is also trained in all forms of weaponry, but like all the Arrow Dancers (the Tribe name for the Warriors), her best skill is with a bow. She has impeccable aim and won't miss anything that she can see, which is easy because the Arrow Dancers are also trained to only take on specific traits of certain animals. Ahee is deadly with all forms of blades, as well, and in several martial arts. As an Arrow Dancer, Ahee knows how to keep herself alive and kill those who attack herself or anyone she is protecting, but she was never trained in interacting with people on a social level. Her entire being is limited to being a Guardian, and fighting/weaponry (along with herbal lore) are all that she is really capable in aside from keeping herself alive (cooking, sewing, etc). She is no diplomat, doesn't understand politics or religion, and has very few social graces. As a Warrior, however, Ahee is one of the best to come out of the compound in eons, so she was sent to the palace of the Seeker once she was deemed fit as an Arrow Dancer. When the former Keeper died, Ahee was sent out to find and protect her heir, Aidan. She is to be his permanent Guardian. - - - - - xzar Name: Raolo (ROW-oo-LOW) Age: Several hundred years. Because of his mixed ancestry it is unknown whether he is in the spring of his lifetime or whether winter draws in. He appears to be in his twenties. Race: Raolo is a mix of human and elven heritage. Gender: Male Location: Despite his birth in the Elven realm of Amalith, Raolo was brought up by his father in the human city of Meneldil. Personality: Raolo is very quiet, painfully so sometimes, unless something of grave importance occurs. This is not to say that he is easily controlled, for he has his own set opinions and aims. Typically distant and nonchalant, Raolo rarely confides in others, never places trust in them and is rarely moved or swayed by words. Appearance: Standing at 6'2” with a somewhat pale pallor, Raolo is rarely seen without a heavy cloak and hood which engulf most of his features. Almost all of his clothing is nondescript and dark, with any belongings obscured by the heavy folds of his cloak. Almost all of his bodily features are thin and narrow, with his Elven blood dictating his appearance more than his human. Background: Born in the Elven realm of Amalith, Raolo travelled to find his birth father in the city of Meneldil. Large parts of his history are shrouded in mystery for him, with chunks of his memory the subject of glaring omissions or potted with brief snapshots of his life. An event which he feels is of particular importance to him is a meeting with the previous Keeper, the details of which are cloudy yet feel urgent in his mind. - - - - - Jason Simmons Name: Quadriq Tekel-Shan Age: Unknown; looks to be about 21 Race: The mysterious Shade, an almost extinct race of mages that can control elements. He has yet to unveil his power to any. Gender: Male Location: Was raised by the Dwarven peoples of Duridaine. He wanders and spends most of his time looking for any job that anyone will give him. Personality: Keeps to himself, except to his closest friends and members of the Dwarf and Shade races. Though he acts cold towards others, he always tries to help those in need. He is protective of those he cares for, and those he believes are good at heart. Appearance: Looks around 21 years old. He stands at 6'0" and has dark blue eyes. He has light brown hair that reaches over his eyes, almost always covering his eyes. He has a scar on his left cheek from an ancient battle that he cannot remember. He is built and very athletic. Background: He doesn't remember much of his past due to amnesia from the battle that he received his scar. He can see glimpses of his past, and knows he has a connection to the Keeper, but is unsure of what it is. - - - - - KC is a teacher now! Name: Asta Meiling Varro Age: 42 Race: Hobbit Gender: Female Location: Pheriannath Personality: Asta adores animals, beautiful gems, and jokes of all kinds. She has a great sense of humor and loves puns, jokes, games, and tricks. Among hobbits, pranks are seen as a way to lighten spirits, to keep hobbits humble, and to strengthen the mind (in thinking up new tricks!) Fortunately, Asta has the same dedication to her engineering ideas as she doesto her pranks. As a whole, hobbits are inquisitive and Asta is no different. Finding things out by personal experience is normal, but normal activities of hobbits can often seem quite reckless to other races. Hobbits can also be skilled engineers, sages (law), researchers/scholars, fanciful jewelers, private tutors, and alchemists; well-paid employees in all the lands. They have a close bond to the dwarves - in fact their written language is based on the dwarven script. Appearance: Asta is 3 ft tall and weighs 40 lbs. She has a light brown skin tone and blondish-brown hair. Her eyes are blue. She wears earth tones (as do all hobbits) and her family's wealth is shown in the intricate stitching and fine jewelry. Hobbits live an average of 350 years, so Asta has just reached her majority. Background: Like all her family (except the one uncle, the jeweler), Asta is an engineer by trade. She has been in training in the Hobbit city of Pheriannath and has just graduated at the top of her class. Her specialty are bridges and she is looking forward to starting her new job with an uncle and his crew who are setting out on a grand adventure to re-design the bridge over the Neena Crevasse. Hobbits love names and most have several. Asta is her birth name, given to her by her mother, Meiling given to her by her father, Varro is the clan name; she has a personal name and she has several nick-names.
