LIVE EACH DAY: a sonnet
Live each day happily as it unfolds. Why carry yesterday’s burden with you? You don’t know what tomorrow for you holds. Why should your past incessantly you rue? Live each season as it passes each year, No winter comes here for all time to stay. Why should a bad today give you much fear? Why should at all your tomorrow it sway? “Lord, give me this day my bread”, Jesus prayed, But for the next day nothing did he ask. On the present emphasis He had laid. The one in hand is the important task. So my friend, live each season as it comes. Enjoy the tune of life that each day hums. • Third prize winner in SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET CONTEST "SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET CONTEST: Closed " M C Gupta 4 June 2007
